A modern LED light bulb gives the lamp a very retro feel and makes the whole ensemble energy efficient. The bulb is included.
The cream plastic switch is located on the main body of the lamp and is pressed to switch the lamp on/off. The lamp has been electrically tested via a calibrated PAT (portable appliance test) tester.
