Antique Stanley Rule & Level Co. Bullnose 75 Mini Wood Plane
This little Antique Stanley Rule & Level Co. Bullnose 75 Mini Wood Plane is a must-have for all vintage tool collectors.
Approximate Size (WHD):- 10.6 x 6.2 x 2.5 cm
Although it does seem to work, it does need some TLC, (tender loving care), as it's rusty, scuffed and marked: there is a little bit of japanning (black coating) still visible. The maker's mark is almost illegible, (see magnified image), and the blade probably needs sharpening. As such, we are selling it as a collectible for display only.
Made from ferrous metal, it is also known as a finger plane, and is very useful in carpentry and joinery for making rebates.
It was made by the Stanley Rule and Level Company, founded by Henry Stanley in New Britain, Connecticut, USA, which merged with the Stanley Tools, UK, in 1920. This dates the plane to pre-1920, and probably is late 19th or early 20th Century.
