Antique Early 20th Century Brass Ammeter 5-0-5 Milliamp Scale
This unusual little lacquered brass meter is an AAntique Early 20th Century Brass Ammeter 5-0-5 Milliamp Scale. Unfortunately, I can't find a maker's mark but I think it's a hot wire / thermal ammeter.
It has two brass side connectors and a black knob on top of the case, which changes the scale in the little window at the top of the face from 0-500-50-5. The main scale measures 5-0-5 milliamps.
In fair cosmetic condition with pitting, discolouration, surface marks and blemishes commensurate with age and use. I haven't been tempted to polish it as some people prefer to see the original patina. The glass is slightly grubby and the paper dial looks to have foxed. The price has been adjusted as a consequence of the defects.
Approximate Meter Size (excluding knob and connectors):
- Base Diameter: 6.7cm
- Depth: 4.4 cm
- Face Diameter: 7.4cm
The meter has the following markings:
- Scale 5-0-5
- No. 72543
- Milliamp.
A great little collectible for those whom love vintage test meters.
