Antique Copper Lustreware Milk Jug
This Antique Copper Lustreware Milk Jug has a blue ground pottery band bearing an embossed scene of a woman with a red dress on one side and an orange dress on the opposite side. It has a very ‘folk art’ feel.
Probably made in Staffordshire, England, in the mid 19th Century, (approx 1850), when Copper Lustre was at its most desirable in candlelit homes. It would make an unusual milk jug/creamer or use as a posy vase with sprigs of herbs in the kitchen.
It is in fair antique condition with no cracks or restoration. Discoloured, with glazing marks, surface scuffs and scratches commensurate with age and use.
A lovely antique, (over 100 years old), which deserves a place in any retro home!
