1986 Book Scotswood Road Photographs By Jimmy Forsyth. A great little book which documents the social history of Newcastle Upon Tyne’s Scotswood Road, from the 1950s, in photographs.

Jimmy Forsyth was born in 1913 and loss the sight of one eye at the age of 30 due to an industrial accident. An eccentric character, whom lived on the edge of poverty on Scotswood Road and managed to ‘make a few bob’ by selling some of his photos so that he could buy his next roll of film!
