1963 The Wireless World Pocket Diary By TJ & J Smith

This small red backed pocket diary dates to 1963 and was issued by the renowned publication, 'The Wireless World,' Ilife & sons Limited, Dorset House, Tudor Street, London E.C.4 in conjunction with TJ & J Smith Ltd, the notable diarists and manufacturers.

The diary contains useful information for the radio/wireless operator about frequency allocations and other useful data e.g. valve base connections and transistor types. It also has key holiday dates marked as well as sunrise and sunset times in 1963.

* Approximate Size: 10.5cm Length x 7cm width

In pretty good condition for its age, the first 2 or 3 pages within the diary have been marked by the original owner. The leather style cover is slightly scuffed and stiff with age. The pages have yellowed.

A piece of social history, the diary contains a detachable piece of red paper with tear off reminders e.g.

'Tomorrow is my husband's birthday.'

(As a person of the female variety, and not to cast aspersions, but I think this should have been 'Tomorrow is my wife's birthday' as it is more unlikely that the wife would forget her husbands' birthday)... Anyway, I digress...

Wireless World Magazine was a British electronics journal which began in 1911 as the Marconigraph. In April, 1913 it became Wireless World and was issued continuously under this name until 1986 when it became Electronics & Wireless World.

A nice little reference book for the book collector and radiophile.
