1960s Short & Mason Stormoguide Wall Mounted Barometer In An Octagonal Wood Surround
This is a very nice 1960s Short & Mason Stormoguide Wall Mounted Barometer In An Octagonal Wood Surround. It has a recess in the back so that it can be wall hung, and it helps predict the weather!
There are a few slight marks in the brass surround and the face dial of the 3.5" diameter barometer, and some scuffs on the asymmetric octagonal wood surround. Otherwise, it is in pretty good condition for its age.
- Approximate Maximum Dimensions of the Wood Surround

- Height: 15cm
- Maximum Depth: 4cm
- Barometer Diameter: 9cm (3.5")
It measures pressure and 'forecasts' the weather depending on the position of the pointer in a particular quadrant. It appears to be working but I’m not sure as to it’s accuracy.
Made by Short and Mason of Aneroid Works, Macdonald Road, Walthamstow, London, E17.
A wonderful looking combined barometer to complement any home décor, but they look particularly good in seaside or coastal homes.
