This colourful piece of artwork is a 1950s Luxol Enamel Paint Advertising Sign / Paint Colour Chart. Made by British Paints Limited, Portland Road, Newcastle, in the late 1950s-mid 60s.
Comprising plastic over metal, mounted on cardboard, it is in good used condition with some scuffs, blemishes, and scratches. The colours are still quite vibrant. A lovely sign for the home office or garage.
Please note that it has no wall hanging fittings/fitments.

The sign came from an old decorating shop, and was used as a shop point of sale merchandising tool where the customer ordered the paint based by the colour and number on the chart.
In the 1920s, British Paints was based in Shieldfields and Gateshead before moving to a bigger premises at Portland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. After WW2, British Paints started to move some operation overseas and is now a well known brand in Asia and Australasia.
