1950s Wrayflex 35mm SLR Camera Body Serial Number 2751 British Made
This is a lovely 1950s Wrayflex 35mm SLR Camera Body Serial Number 2751 British Made. I think the model is a Wrayflex 1a with a frame counter of 1-36.
It isn't in working condition, as the shutter is stuck, but is still highly collectible as a 'shelf queen!' The camera body, made by Wray of London, is the only British made 35mm SLR camera and dates to the 1950s.
In fair condition, with surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use (see images). There is also a dent at the top right hand corner of the camera (as viewed from the rear).
Specification:
- Film Type: 135 (35mm)
- Lens Mount Type: Screw Mount
- Frame counter: 1-36
- Serial Number: 2715
- Speeds ½ - 1/1000 second
- Battery: none
- Flash synchronisation sockets on the front of the camera for electronic flash (E) and bulb (B).
- Patent number GB656548 filed in 1947
