1950s Roberts Green CR Valve Portable Radio For Display Only
This vintage 1950s Roberts Green CR Valve Portable Radio For Display Only as it has not been tested and, therefore, we don't know whether or not it is working. It is a four valve radio, and covers the Medium and Long Wavebands.
In pretty good cosmetic condition, it is housed in a wooden cabinet covered with dark Green Rexine (leatherette cloth) with white bakelite and plastic finish. There are a few scuffs, blemishes and discolouration commensurate with age and use. The green leather handle is worn but intact.
It is complete with its original white bakelite knobs and RobertsRadio badge. There are a few marks in the grille but no major dents. It is very heavy: ~4.5Kg unpacked without batteries, hence the high shipping cost!
This radio requires either an appropriate AC main supply or 1.5v (L.T) and 90v (H.T) batteries (none are supplied), and is often converted by experts to run on modern battery equivalents.
