This large 1950s Maling Pink Lustreware Art Pottery Vase Model Blossom 6584 is beautiful! It was manufactured at Maling, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The company was founded in 1762 and closed in 1963. A real collector's piece from a notable pottery.
It is in very good condition, with no restoration work, cracks, or chips. There is some crazing and black marks in the interior of the vase, which haven’t been removed by washing.
Maximum Approximate Dimensions:
- Base Diameter – 10 cm
- Height ~ 21.2cm
- Top internal Diameter: 10.7cm
Dating to the 1950s, it has a creamy white background with embossed hand-painted apple blossom flowers and leaves. Depending on the lighting, the lustre on the vase appears pink and green in colour.
The maker’s marks on the base are as follows:-
Printed 1950s Back Mark with the Castle logo and Maling, England
Impressed mark 39 (vase was actually made in 1939 but not decorated until the 1950s!)
