1950s Hartley Electromotives Desk Microphone
I've never come across another of these 1950s Hartley Electromotives Desk Microphone. Sporting a very fetching Art Deco style microphone, on a circular metal base, the microphone has a distinctive design with a black plastic on/off switch.
Made by Hartley Electromotives Ltd.,Octopus Works, Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, it dates to the 1950s and has a look of a Turner/ Shure / Calrad microphone of the same era. In pretty good cosmetic condition, it hasn't been tested and is being sold as a collectible for display only. There are a few scuffs and blemishes on the stand and mic, and some loss of paint.
Approximate size:
- Base diameter: 12.6 cm (~5")
- Height: 20.4 cm
- Microphone Face Diameter: 6cm
- Microphone Depth: 7cm
Hartley Electromotives produced a wide range of electrical and mechanical products from stoves to radio sets for well known names such as Radio rentals and Hacker radio. The brand is best known for their Taperiter dictation system based on a tape cassette and tape recorder.
