1950s Denby Burlington Stoneware Squat Pastel Jug by Albert Colledge

This is a beautiful 1950s Denby Burlington Stoneware Squat Pastel Jug by Albert Colledge. 

It comprises pastel shades of beige, green, and lilac over a white glaze with a 'basket weave' finish. Typically 1950s (MCM) in design and a highly collectible piece of fine art ceramics.

It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. A beautiful jug for display, or a statement piece for flower arranging.

  • Base Diameter: 10cm (4")
  • Neck Diameter: 6cm
  • Maximum Width (edge of handle to edge of jug): 19 cm (difficult to measure!)

Who wouldn’t want a statement piece Denby Pottery stoneware jug/vase, designed by the famous Denby potter, Albert Colledge or his son, Glyn Colledge? 

The original 1950s Burlington design was satin black glazed with a white background, this colour was soon followed by a turquoise blue, green, and multi-coloured pastel variations.
