This 1950s Crown Devon Green Gilded A427P Cup And Tennis/Snack Plate is very useful for afternoon tea. A teacup with a large enough plate to hold your finger sandwich, biscuit, cookie or piece of cake! Keeps a hand free for picking up more cake! They are also known as breakfast, television or tennis plates.

These collectable cup and saucer sets from Crown Devon, numbered A427, are a pale green earthenware, with gilding to the rims and handle. The back mark on both the Saucer and the Cup dates to the 1950s.

We have three in stock, all in the same condition with no chips, cracks or restoration with slight wear to the gilding. There are a few age or manufacturing related defects on most of the cups and saucers, including slight crazing, glaze marks, bubbles, and black spots.

Some Information on Crown Devon

The Crown Devon pottery was based in Stoke-on-Trent,Staffordshire, England. It was established at the existing Railway Pottery by Simon Fielding in 1873. In 1878 it was taken over by Fielding’s son Abraham retaining the name S. Fielding & Co. Ltd. The name Crown Devon was adopted in 1913. Production eventually ceased in 1982.
