1940s Magnifying Desk Lamp EDL Lens-Lite Hawk
We have available an extremely rare, and original, adjustable 1940s Magnifying Desk Lamp EDL Lens-Lite Hawk. A great looking vintage industrial light for your office, workplace or for bench craft/hobby work.
Approximate Dimensions:
- Height: 29cm (when fully vertical)
- Lamp Width: 23cm
- Base Depth: 18cm
It’s in very good condition. These are very rarely found; let alone like this one in its original box. The only minor detractor is paint loss where the arm meets the base, as pictured.
The top of the box is held together with sellotape, but as the magnifying lamp is so gorgeous you will want to have it on permanent display, hence the box will probably go straight into storage!
The hood of the lamp can be adjusted by a few degrees to optimise the light/magnification positioning, and the whole lamp can be folded downwards (e.g. to fit in to the original box).
It is made from Bakelite and steel with an original moulded bakelite shade, which takes 2 x 15 or 25 watt pigmy bulbs. It has been fitted with two new Philips 15 Watt bulbs.
In addition, the lamp has had remedial work along with Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), which should ensure electrical safety and reliable operation for many years. It is just waiting for you to add your own plug adapter (if outside the UK). A wonderful looking vintage lamp to complement any home décor!
Remedial work undertaken:
- Rewired with black flex: 0.6cm, 3 core, PVC sheathed, cotton braided.
- New CE marked black plug top fitted along with a 3A fuse.
- New black switch
- New Pair Of Philips 15 Watt B22 2700K Colour Temperature Bulbs
