1940s Ever Ready Model Personal B Valve MW Portable Battery Radio
If you love quirky vintage radios then this 1940s Ever Ready Model Personal B Valve MW Portable Battery Radio is the one for you!
At first glances it resembles a hinged tin with a leather carry handle but, when you open the lid, a wonderful art deco radio appears before your eyes!
It was marketed by Ever Ready as a four valve portable radio but only has Medium Wave capability. I'm not sure if this radio is working and is being sold as a collectible for display only.
The radio is in pretty good cosmetic condition. The outer case is scuffed and scratched with rusty hinges, but the inside is in fairly good condition except it needs a clean and probable overhaul.
A wonderful design, the radio would switch on automatically when the lid, which contains the aerial, was opened. The wires attaching the lid to the aerial are missing. There is corrosion around the lid attachments.
