Not many of these microphones survive in such good condition. There is some rust/corrosion, loss of paint, scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use. It is untested, and it would be advisable to have the ribbon replaced and the microphone overhauled before pressing into regular use. The wire has been cut at some stage and will need replacing.

Made by Amperite Company Inc., New York, USA, one of the main suppliers of microphones in the 1930s/ 1940s, for the UK Radio receiver / chassis manufacturer, McMurdo Silver: so called as they were plated in a bright silver colour.
Originally quoted output of 69 dB and an impedance of 2000Ω. (The RAL microphone was identical to the RAH but of lower impedance).
Sold as a collectible for display only, a nice piece of ephemera for the microphone collector.
