A lovely 1936 Royal Doulton Rustic England Dinner Plate D5694 Featuring a Chair Bodger. "Rustic England' is one of a Charles Noke designed series ware patterns and was made from 1936 to 1960.
The circular dinner plate is beautifully printed with a country scene of a chair-bodger watched by two villagers.
It is in very good condition with vibrant colours and no chips, cracks or restoration. It does have small manufacturing defects including bubbles and black marks in the glaze. There is also slight crazing.
The base is marked with the Royal Doulton post 1930s back stamp, the pattern number D5694, (which dates to 1936), and Reg'd Australia 16306/7/8
