1934 British Pathéscope Imp 9.5mm Home Cine Projector

For those of us whom love vintage imaging equipment then how about this wonderful little 1934 British Pathéscope Imp 9.5mm Home Cine Projector?

It's not in working condition, however it would still make a lovely display item in your home movie room or office.

Approximate Size (WHD):  22 x 34 x 10 cm

The original lamp would have been 12 volt, 0.5amp, 6 watts but several variants were offered. I'm not sure what type of bulb is fitted in this little projector.

The previous owner made a small wood see-saw action stand for the projector which enabled you to easily move the projector up and down for optimum viewing.

Stand Size(WHD) when horizontal: 19 x 7 x 13.5 cm

  • I think there may be a few pieces missing, including the hand crank needed if you don't run the projector via a motor.
  • Made from pressed steel with a high gloss enamel finish, which has faded with age. There is some rust, and a few scratches and surface blemishes, and the pulley chain is no longer pristine.
  • The motor isn't working and is not fixed in position on its plinth. It also isn't the original motor. This particular 24 volt motor was previously used in WW2 Radar equipment, and has the military broad arrow and  Air Ministry reference number 10KB/1557!
  • Those with some know-how could possibly restore the projector back to working condition but we are selling it as a collectible for display only. The price has been adjusted to account for the issues.

The Pathéscope IMP (Imp-roved), Made in England, was a slight design improvement on the earlier Pathé 'Kid' projector. This has the 'super-attachment' which enabled you to use spools up to 300 foot.
