For all collectors of Art Deco period homewares or Architectural salvage, we have a rare 1920s / 1930s Vintage British Dimmer Light Switch With A Ceramic Base & Brass Cover.
The switch is not up to current IEE regulations. It has not been restored or tested, and is sold as a collector’s display item only.
Base Diameter:- 7.2cm
Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the manufacturer but if anyone knows who used the brand 'LOWA' I would love to hear from you!
The face is brass and the back is white vitreous ceramic. The rotary dimmer consists of a brown bakelite button which can be turned clockwise and anticlockwise.
It is in reasonable vintage condition. There are a few surface scuffs and scratches, and a slight dent in the brass. It is a pretty rare item, especially with it being an early form of the dimmer switch: a real work of art!
