A lovely 1930s Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Sairey Gamp Lipped Octagonal 6.5 Inch Soup Bowl. Pattern Number D2973.
The dish is beautifully printed with a street scene including the character ‘Sairey Gamp' from Charles Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit.
In good condition with vibrant colours and no cracks or restoration. The dish does have some manufacturing defects including bubbles and black marks in the glaze. There is a tiny chip, barely noticeable, in the rim.
The base is marked with the Royal Doulton post 1930s back stamp and special Dickens Ware stamp, the pattern number D2973, and the character name, Sairey Gamp.
