The plate is beautifully printed with a street scene including the miserly character ‘Barkis' the Carter from Charles Dickens' David Copperfield.
In good condition with vibrant colours and no chips, cracks or restoration. The dish does have some manufacturing defects including bubbles and black marks in the glaze.
The base is marked with the Royal Doulton special Dickens Ware stamp, the pattern number D2973, and the character name, Barkis.
