1930s Pifco All In One Pocket Meter Voltmeter Ammeter
This 1920s/ 1930s Pifco All In One Pocket Meter Voltmeter Ammeter is a wonderful little device. It has a white Ivorine back with chromed brass surround, and was made for PIFCO, Manchester, UK: it is marked ‘Foreign’.
The unit has not been tested and is being sold as a collectible, for display only. It is in very good cosmetic condition with negligible scuffs or loss of chrome coating. It is missing its test leads.
A nice addition to a vintage technology collection or would make a great desk ornament!
The Pifco ‘All in One’ pocket meter measured the following:-
0-40 Milliamps
0-160 Volts (R=4000Ω) high tension
0-8 Volts (R= 200Ω) low tension

A 1.5 Volt battery/cell fits inside the unit (not included).

Ivorine is an unusual type of plastic made from formaldehyde and casein protein extracted from skimmed milk. It is highly susceptible to moisture and is easily discoloured.
