1930s Parker Super Wunup Dunhill Cigarette Case
Vintage 1930s Parker Super Wunup Dunhill Cigarette Case Made from Red-Brown Bakelite, with black flecks. This case still has the ‘wun-up’ dispenser in place and is a wonderful colour!
External Approximate Size: (I believe that the Case was originally designed to fit 70mm or 2 3/4″ cigarettes, which are smaller than most modern cigarettes)
Width: 9.2cm
Height: 8.2cm
Depth: 1.2cm
The marketing tag line for these types of dispenser was ” Just slide the top and up they pop.”
This case has an amber coloured plastic ribbed top which slides along a metal channel. As the top is pushed along, cigarettes pop up on individual springs mounted in the base of the case. ‘Wunup’ cigarette cases were available from 1932-1960 and made by the Parker Pipe Company.
In pretty good condition, the sliding top is showing slight age related wear and there are a few minor surface scratches and blemishes on the case. Made by Parker, Beacon House, 141 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11, dating to about the 1930s.
A great tobacciana or Bakelite collector’s item.

Marked on the base as follows:_
“Parker WunUp Case.”
“British Made”
Photos taken with and without flash hence the differences in colour.
Some Trivia For You!
In 1922, the Parker Pipe Co Limited was formed by Alfred Dunhill to finish and market what Dunhill called its “failings” or what collectors would call ‘seconds.’ Prior to that, Dunhill marketed its own “failings”, often designated by a large “X” over the typical Dunhill stamping or “Damaged Price” with the reduced price actually stamped on the pipe.
