This lovely looking piece of antique home decor is a 1930s Brass And Wood Internal Telephone / Door Bell Ringer Box In Working Condition: (tested on the bench at low voltage D.C, it would need wiring by an electrician to make it work as an internal bell).

Width of Base: 11.6cm
Height: ~21cm (from the base to the tip of the gong)
Diameter of gong- ~7.4 cm
Depth~ 6.4cm
The large bell and sounder are made from brass and the internal bell mechanism fits inside a wooden surround. I haven't been tempted to polish it as some people prefer to see the patina. The wood has some surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use.
