1929 General Radio Type 558-P Amateur Band Frequency Meter In A Wood Transit Case
This great looking piece of vintage tech is a 1929 General Radio Type 558-P Amateur Band Frequency Meter In A Wood Transit Case. The wavemeter/frequency meter was made by General Radio Co., Cambridge, Mass. USA, from 1928-1935: see the image of the original advert below.
Complete with its original coils (A to E) and calibration chart mounted on a metal plate. The original instruction leaflet is stuck to the inside of the box lid.
Frequency measured: 4.6 (Coil A)- 86 Metres (Coil E)
Approximate Size of Case:
- Width: 29.6 cm
- Height: 14.7 cm
- Depth: 18 cm
In pretty good cosmetic condition with some surface blemishes. The top of the meter has engrained dirt, which slightly masks the numbers on the meter but they are still readable. The excess dirt wiped off with a damp cloth.
A nice little collectible for those of us whom love vintage test meters and radio accessories.
