1920s Noritake Morimura Desert Scene Bonbon Dish
1920s Noritake Morimura Desert Scene Bonbon Dish with gilded scalloped edge. Beautifully hand painted with a vibrantly coloured desert scene. I have been unable to track down the pattern number, and I can’t find another for sale. The style of back mark suggests it was manufactured in the 1920s.
Approximate Dimensions:
- Diameter top: 14cm
- Diameter Base: 6.5cm
- Height: 3.5cm
In very good condition with slight fading to the gilding and paint. The surface has a few surface scratches and scuffs. A nice piece for the Noritaké collector or makes a striking statement piece for the hall/entryway or lounge.
Backmark
The wreath was designed from the crest of the Morimuras.
Early, 1900s-1930s, Noritake pieces are marked with the M in a wreath for the Morimura Brothers.
