1920s Mason's Ironstone Watteau Brown Two Handled Serving Dish

This is a very nice example of a 1920s Mason’s Ironstone Watteau Brown Two Handled Serving Dish. Brown Transferware in pretty good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and a small amount of crazing. However, it does have several manufacturing defects, including; bubbles, glazing marks, black spots in the pottery, and orange peel. These defects have been present since the dish was first made.

Transfer printed crown and banner, England and pattern name ‘Watteau.’

The cross indicates that this was probably a seconds

This mark is after 1920. ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ introduced after 1923
