1920s Lead Crystal Cut Glass Measuring Cylinder Shaped Vase

This 1920s Lead Crystal Cut Glass Measuring Cylinder Shaped Vase is bound to appeal to the scientists amongst us. I’m not sure of the manufacturer, as there is no back mark, but is likely to be European in origin.

Maximum Approximate Dimensions:

• Base Diameter – 8 cm
• Height ~ 28.5cm/ 11.2″
• Glass thickness at the neck: 0.3cm

It was given as a wedding gift in the 1920s, and is in pretty good condition with no cracks or restoration. There are scratches on the vase and there are tiny chips on the neck: these don’t show up very well on the photographs. The chips could possibly be polished out. The price has been reduced to reflect the level of cosmetic defects.

The base of the vase is very heavy. It looks lovely when filled with a few long stemmed fresh or dried flowers: (the dried flowers are not included in the sale and are used for photographic purposes only).  In certain lights you can see the green hue of the lead crystal. You could also fill it with coloured glass beads/baubles and buttons for use as table decoration.

A wonderful, timeless, design which looks good with or without flowers!
