The mechanism works with a resounding thunk and the whole thing smacks of exquisite British design and engineering excellence. Dating from the 1930s, this is a very nice and quite scarce instrument. Unfortunately, the staples are no longer in production, although you occasionally find old stock for sale online.
In very good working condition with some surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use. It will be supplied with a strip of staples post-purchase.
