This is a quite rare British 1940s SEL Three Way Motor No.3 1262 4 Volts 1.5 amp.

A great find for all collectors of vintage tech. In good condition with slight loss of paint and surface blemishes.

Approximate measurements:

  • Base Width: 8.8 cm
  • Base Length:- 10.1 cm (4")
  • Height: 6 cm

This small 4 Volt electric motor was made by Signalling Equipment Limited (SEL): catalogue number 1262. The motor has two red curved magnetic pole-plates, a three-arm set of coils, and an electromagnet between the plates. The base is made from black Bakelite.

A useful dynamo motor e.g. for Model Steam Engines including; Meccano/Mamod/Wilesco. It dates to the 1930s/40s.
