Vintage Kapsch And Söhne Super Star Transistor Radio
This is a red and cream, FM/UHF / Short wave / MW / LW, Vintage Kapsch And Söhne Super Star Transistor Radio, manufactured at the Telephon und Telegraphenfabriks AG, Wien (Vienna), Austria, in the early 1960s.
Made from red leather covered wood, with white plastic grilles and accents, the radio is in pretty good cosmetic condition.
It is being sold as a collectable, for display only, as we have not been able to test it. It originally used two 4.5v battery packs, (often type 3LR12 block batteries with two different size metal strip connectors), which are now obsolete. Hence, to get it working again, it would need e.g. converting by someone with some expertise to use modern batteries adding up to a total of 9 volts.
Condition:-
- There are signs of discolouration, slight wear/scuffing on the leather and handle
- The grilles are slightly discoloured
- Slight loss of lettering on the white selector buttons
