Vintage Military Dummy Aerial For WS31 Mk2 Z4/WD/42H

This is an original Vintage Military Dummy Aerial For WS31 Mk2 Z4/WD/42H- it dates to the 1940s and is new old stock. A rare find indeed, it has been repacked at least twice, including 1949 and 1963.

An interesting piece of communications militaria, the Dummy Aerial or Dummy Load was used for testing, tuning, or as a protective base element, for the wireless set 31 MkII: a British Army VHF/FM man pack transceiver operating on 40–48 MHz: not included...

A dummy load plugs directly into the antenna/aerial socket of the WS 31 to safely dissipate transmitter power as heat or to simulate the electrical impedance of the standard whip antenna without broadcasting a live radio frequency (RF) signal.

In very good boxed condition with a few cosmetic scuffs and blemishes, this unusual piece of ephemera is untested and sold as a collectible for display only.
