Vintage Soviet Union Moskvich Brown / Pink Bakelite Valve Radio

This is a Vintage Soviet Union Moskvich Brown / Pink Bakelite Valve Radio Moskvič - Москвич V - В, manufactured in the 1950s by Moscow TEMP Radio Works / Plant. 

It is being sold as a collectable, for display only, as we have not been able to test it and it no longer meets modern H&S requirements.

Made from brown and marbled pink / beige / white bakelite with brown bakelite knobs, the radio is in fair-poor cosmetic condition but still displays well. The price has been adjusted as a consequence. It still has original lead terminating in a two pin brown bakelite plug, which was made in Poland.

Condition:-

• There are cracks in the bakelite on the base and on top of the radio. Someone has tried to repair the one near the base... (it wasn't me!)
• There are signs of discolouration and slight wear/scuffing 
  
• Some loss of lettering on the glass face
• The speaker fabric is intact but dislodged

Although this is a faded relic from the USSR, it is still a rare and lovely looking valve radio to use as home decor or as a movie prop!

⚠️ Safety Warning: Like many vintage transformerless or live-chassis European radios of this era, the internal chassis can be directly tied to the mains voltage, posing an electric shock risk. An isolation transformer is strongly recommended when servicing or operating it on modern grids.
