Vintage Radialva Super AS57 110 Volt Brown Bakelite Valve Radio

This is a Vintage Radialva Super AS57 110 / 220 Volt Brown Bakelite Valve Radio, with a directional aerial, manufactured in France in the 1950s (1956/57)by Véchambre Frères. 

It is being sold as a collectable, for display only, as we have not been able to test it and it no longer meets modern H&S requirements.

Set up as a 110v radio, it could be used as a 220/240v using a separate transformer. It comes with its original vintage Radialva French 2-pin plug.

Made from with brown bakelite with a fabric grille and bakelite knobs/buttons, the radio is in pretty good cosmetic condition.

• A nice and clear Radialva badge is present on the front 
  
• The cardboard back panel has a set of instructions, written in French, for using the transformer.

Condition:-

• There are signs of discolouration, slight wear/scuffing on the bakelite
• The grille is slightly discoloured 
  
• Slight loss of lettering on the white selector buttons

A rare and lovely looking valve radio to use as home decor!

Safety Warning: Like many vintage transformerless or live-chassis European radios of this era, the internal chassis can be directly tied to the mains voltage, posing an electric shock risk. An isolation transformer is strongly recommended when servicing or operating it on modern grids.
