Vintage ARI 23057 RAF Radio UHF Standby Transmitter Receiver TR10056 

This valve based Military Aircraft Cockpit Radio is a Vintage ARI 23057 RAF Radio UHF Standby Transmitter Receiver TR10056, frequency 238-248 MHz. It dates to about the 1960s and is ex-Nato equipment. 

The unit is in fairly good cosmetic condition. It does have surface scuffs/scratches and blemishes commensurate with age, use and storage. 

It is being sold as a collectible, for display only, as we are unable to test the unit.

It is purported to have been used in cold war jets such as the Hawker Hunter and Buccaneer for radio communications between the aircraft and the ground. 

A 2-channel, 24 volt, valve standby radio set, the TR10056 was manufactured between 1962 and 1972, and had a rotary inverter to generate the HT.
