Vintage Wood Cased DC Electric Butler / Servant / Door Bell Buzzer 

This is a lovely small, and working, Vintage Wood Cased DC Electric Butler / Servant / Door Bell Buzzer. Made from hardwood, it has a small hook on the rear to allow it to be hung from a wall in an appropriate room.

Approximate size:

• Height: 4 cm 
  
• Base Diameter- 6.7cm

Dating from the 1900s to 1930s, it is unusual in the it doesn't have a gong or a visual indicator.  The internal bell mechanism is enclosed within the wood case and vibrates against two contacts emitting a low pitch buzzing noise. It has been tested with a 5 volt DC supply but would probably work with a 1.5v supply.

A great piece of vintage social history,  in used condition, with scratches and scuffs commensurate with age and use. There are slight cracks in the wood screw-on top but they do not stop it from screwing on the base.
