Vintage Renamel Vehicle Badge RAC ACU Training Scheme Instructor

This is a very nice Vintage Renamel Vehicle Badge RAC ACU Training Scheme Instructor made by the well known badge manufacturer Renamel (AID) Ltd of London NW6. Renamel’s logo is R with a crown. It probably dates to the 1960s.

ACU or Auto Cycle Union was founded in 1903, and is effectively the motorcycling arm of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club).

This badge was made for the instructors of the RAC- ACU motorcyclist road users training scheme, which ran from 1947- 1982.

It is in reasonable condition with no loss of enamel or colour. There is superficial scuffing on the enamel surface and the metal is slightly pitted but this would probably improve with a polish.
