Vintage Mini Picnic Sterling Silver Pressed Glass Pepper Pot Shaker

We have for sale a very cute Vintage Mini Picnic Sterling Silver Pressed Glass Pepper Pot Shaker

It measures approximately 3.5cm (1.4″) in height (including cap), with ~ 2cm (0.8″)  maximum diameter. It's tiny but perfect for lunch boxes and picnic baskets.

The cast glass bottle is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It has eight sides (octahedral). The Sterling Silver bottle cap is embossed with a delicate design on the edges. The cap is slightly out of shape but still screws into the bottle.

The cap bears the hall mark ‘Sterling Silver.’ This may indicate that it was made in Australia as their silversmiths often  just used the names Ste. Silver or Sterling Silver unlike the system used in British and European Silver hallmarks. I am not sure of it’s age, probably 1940s/50s.

This mini pepper pot would have been used in a picnic set or for travelling.
