Vintage Hisamatsu TN-6 Barograph With Chart Paper

This is a very nice, bench top, Vintage Hisamatsu TN-6 Barograph With Chart Paper, made by the Hisamatsu Manufacturing Company, Japan, founded in 1957.

These high quality instruments were usually sold via intermediary supply companies rather than direct to customers, hence they are rarely available for sale.

The Hisamatsu TN-6 is a highly durable, traditional mechanical meteorological barograph designed to continuously record atmospheric pressure over a seven-day period on a clockwork-driven drum.

In a grey case with lacquered brass drum and spring and chrome levers, this laboratory instrument is beautifully engineered. It even comes with spare ink and a box of chart paper! 

• In pretty good condition, with a few surface blemishes and scratches in the paintwork commensurate with age and use. 
  
• Measures:- 94-1045mb or 705-785mmHg
• The clockwork timer movement works well, ticking and keeping time satisfactorily. 
• I’m not sure how accurate the barograph is at measuring the atmospheric pressure but the readings are within 5% of our own calibrated barograph.

All in all, this represents a scarce opportunity to obtain one of these instruments for use or to add to your collection. They also look great in a science themed kitchen: see attached image for ideas; accessories are not included!
