Vintage Buren 8-Day Swiss Automobile / Car Clock Brevet No. 122628

This wonderful little clock is a Vintage Buren 8-Day Swiss Automobile / Car Clock Brevet No. 122628.

Dating to about the 1940s, it is in working condition but, due to it age, I can't attest to its accuracy. It would probably require a CLA (clean, lube and adjust) service to guarantee accurate time keeping.

An unusual clock in that the case dial bezel is turned clockwise to wind the clock. Then, after sliding the switch on the side of the case, you turn the bezel anticlockwise to set the time.

It has a black 2inch (5.3cm) dial, with white Arabic numerals, and a white seconds dial. The back is market Brevet no.122628 with a capital FS.

The minute and hour hands are painted green and are supposed to luminesce but this effect has significantly reduced due to age and light exposure.

In fairly good cosmetic condition, with a few scuffs and surface blemishes, the clock has

• A broken mounting bracket with a missing piece
• No outer case

The price has been adjusted to account for these defects.

A lovely clock for the classic car or for mounting as a desk clock.
