Pair of Antique Metal Folding Lorgnettes With Rectangular Lenses

A lovely Pair of Pair of Antique Metal Folding Lorgnettes With Rectangular Lenses in need of repair, hence they are being sold as a collectible for display only.

The centre mini screw is missing, which joins the two halves, hence I am unable to check whether or not the glass will fold into the shell case or if the release lever is working properly.

Other than the defect described, the rectangular glass lorgnettes are in fair condition; the glass is intact, and the case and metal are scuffed commensurate with age and use. I haven't attempted to polish them.

Dating to the Victorian period, these folding lorgnettes were made to wear on a chain or ribbon around the neck. In good, intact, condition these lorgnettes sell for well over £100. Due to the repair required these are on offer for considerably less.
