1960s Mechanical West German Ankle Pedometer In Original Box

This lovely 1960s Mechanical West German Ankle Pedometer In Original Box is in pristine condition. It doesn't look to have had any use!  

Besides its original plastic box, it comes with the outer cardboard box, leather ankle strap, and instruction leaflet. It appears to be working but I can't attest to its accuracy.

Walking distance is indicated by a pointer on the instrument dial. Recommended placement is just above the ankle as the four pedometer scales are calibrated to four pace lengths, ranging from 19 to 25 inches.
