1940s Bakelite Air Ministry 6A/1340 RAF Aircraft Oil Thermometer 12 Volt Cockpit Gauge. Made By Coley

I love this 1940s Bakelite Air Ministry 6A/1340 RAF Aircraft Oil Thermometer 12 Volt Cockpit Gauge. Made in 1942 By "Coley Thermometers" for a WW2 Fighter such as the Spitfire or Hurricane. 

The face is made from a lovely butterscotch coloured bakelite complemented by dial gauge markers of the same colour. It's almost too nice to mount in a fighter plane and possibly why it's never been used.

This Vintage Scientific Instrument/Gadget/Meter is sold as a collectible only. It is in excellent cosmetic condition with very slight surface scuffing, and is brand new old stock. It measured oil temperature in degrees celsius.
