Vintage Brass Imperial Scale Weights. Set of Four: Half, Two, Four And Eight Ounce

A lovely quartet of Antique and Vintage Brass Imperial Scale Weights. Set of Four: Half, Two, Four And Eight Ounce, which stack / nest together vertically. 

Approximate Diameters / Engravings:

• 1/2 oz: 2cm (engraved on the front V.R with a crown and the number 224)
• 2 oz: 3.4cm (unmarked as far as I can discern)
• 4 oz: 4.2cm (engraved on the rear G.R with a crown and the number 1 and 27)
• 8 oz: 5.5cm (engraved on the rear G.R with a crown and the number 1 and 302)

This dates the weights to the era of Queen Victoria (V.R) and King George VI (G.R). The cipher legally certifies that the brass weight was accurate for commercial / trade use on measuring scales.

In fairly good used condition with micro scratching and discolouration. I haven't been tempted to clean or polish the weights as some people prefer to see the existing patina.

A nice little collectable for use with your vintage scales or just for display on your kitchen worktop!
