1950s DDR Carl Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 10x50W Multicoated Binoculars

This is a very nice set of black 1950s DDR Carl Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 10x50W Multicoated Binoculars in a brown leather transit case. Made in the DDR (East Germany), these binoculars are Porro prisms, and the serial number indicates they were manufactured in ~ 1955 actually at the Jena facility.

There is some fungus in the binocular lenses, particularly on the left hand side and, consequently, the optics seem slightly dark. Both lenses need to be stripped and cleaned to make them free from fungus but the binoculars are usable in their current state. The price has been adjusted accordingly.

Otherwise, in good cosmetic condition, with a few surface scuffs commensurate with age and use. The neck strap is slightly worn, and there are scuffs on the surface of the leather transit case. The binoculars are supplied with four clear plastic lens caps.
