Vintage Hanovia Bikini Floor Lamp

This is a fantastic 1950s Vintage Hanovia Bikini Red & Chrome Floor Lamp Converted From A Sun Lamp. It may be no longer capable of tanning but is still inherently beautiful!

NB: the metal is blemished in parts

The lamp is resplendent in Signal red paint with polished solid aluminium accents, joints and shade. The lamp has been fitted with an unusual Italian designed and manufactured flex which has a metal outer mesh above the outer layer insulation: very striking and unusual, almost unique!  

The flex is fitted with a convenient in-line foot switch to allow it to be isolated from the mains, and is terminated with a black plug top fused with a 3A fuse.      

The lamp head is fitted with a 110 mm  xx type R7s 9.5W 1200 lumens 2700 Kelvin colour temperature LED bulb, which gives a superb spread of bright yet warm balanced illumination.

With its "War of The Worlds" 1950s Martian Tripod War Machine styling, this lamp will be a conversation piece suitable for any home. We doubt whether or not another example in this form exists anywhere, a truly unique statement piece.

In very good cosmetic condition, with surface scuffs and blemishes commensurate with age and use:-

• Rewired with vintage style Italian Manufactured flex/braid with metal outer mesh.
• Complete with floor foot switch
• New CE marked plug top fitted along with a 3A fuse.
• New, energy efficient, vintage style LED light bulb/ tube fitted
• External surface cleaned or polished to remove surface dirt

This truly is an engineering work of art and would make a fantastic addition to the retro home.
