1950s British SEL Metal Battery Operated Railway Signal Light Toy Model 730 In Its Original Box

This is a quite rare 1950s British SEL Metal Battery Operated Railway Signal Light Toy Model 730 In Its Original Box.

A great find for all collectors of vintage toys and O-gauge model collectors.  In good cosmetic condition with slight loss of paint and surface blemishes. It has been bench tested and it appears to be in working condition but is being sold as a collectible, for display only. The battery is not included due to the problems with shipping.

Approximate Railway Signal Light measurements:

• Height: 19 cm

This lovely metal toy was made by Signalling Equipment Limited (SEL): catalogue number 730. 

Summary

• Metal arm post and single-sided railway Signal light head painted in black. It comes with four lamps, in the order top to bottom; amber, green, amber, red.

The light was designed to mimic the signalling of its full scale big brother as follows:-

• Red- Danger or Stop
• Green- All Clear or Proceed 
• One Amber- Be prepared to stop at the next signal  
• Two Amber -Be prepared to stop at the second signal
