Vintage Fransen Horstman Electric Hair Clippers/Trimmers.

These Vintage Fransen Horstman Electric Hair Clippers/Trimmers were made in England in the 1950s.

They are in pretty good working condition, the trimmer has been cleaned but not sterilised. There is some felted fur close to the blades, which stops hair being drawn to the internals of the machine: (it isn’t hair/fur that hasn’t been cleaned from the clippers). The blade has not been changed.

Sidney Horstman was a British Engineer who founded a short-lived motor car company in 1923. He invented the first adjustable blade electric hair clippers in the 1940s, allowing barbers to work with different hair lengths. The length is adjusted via a switch on the rear of the clippers.

Metal Label: Horstman, 230v/250v, No. 0228. Reg. no. 844076

Although we are selling the clippers as a collectible/display item only, they have been rewired and have passed the Electrical Appliance P.A.T (Portable Appliance Test). A certificate will be provided post-purchase.

These clippers are a great industrial design and have stood the test of time!
