1930s Philips 9528 Dynamic Moving Coil Microphone

On offer today, we have a rare example of an all metal 1930s Philips 9528 Dynamic Moving Coil Microphone. Made in Holland (The Netherlands) by Philips; the microphone worked at 500 ohms.

The Philips 9528 Figure 8 Dynamic Microphone appears in the May 1940 Philips Technical Review of ‘Microphones’ by J de Boer, Volume 5, No. 5, page 148.

In reasonable used condition, with some loss of chrome and surface scratches/scuffs on the chrome neck and mouth piece. I haven’t tried to clean or polish the mesh or chrome. There is also a slight dent in the mesh, which may push out. The original Philips badge is still intact in the centre of the mic. It measures 9cm in diameter and has a three pin connector.

This mic has not been tested, and is being sold for display purposes only. In working condition, these microphones are worth in excess of £200; we are offering this one for less than £100 (excluding shipping)!

A bit of glam and music history for your shack or lounge!
